There are times in life when we take the relationships we have for granted but there are those relationships we don't second guess. We know those people are here and love us unconditionally. These are the kinds of feelings that give us our confidence, our healthy hearts and will to go on. This is how I've always felt about my dad.
He worked overtime making sure his 4 daughters were well supported and felt like we were Pleasantville-safe in our Jamaica, Queens home. Until this day my heart feels warm when I wonder what he and my mom are doing up in NY while I'm here focusing on my to do lists. I see the way Kylie looks at her dad and I get the same feeling.
Kylie spends a lot of time with me while her dad focuses on his music career and not a day goes by that she doesn't see or hear from him. He's already planning for her birthday in April. He even reroutes his tour direction or meets us in a mutual place so that she can feel his presence, I think that is worthy of recognition. We are proud he's getting out all of his talents, realizing and executing his dreams. We are pragmatic people. I teach Kylie to do all her work now and then we can benefit from it in our leisure just like Mommy and Daddy. Cheers to father's that sacrifice and stay focused.
